A Guide to Fabric

Creating awesome tees is fun and rewarding! Now that the design is dialed in, it’s time to pick a tee. Instead of going with the least expensive option, which might not feel great on your skin, consider a move to a more fashion forward brand that keeps your tee being worn again and again.

100% Cotton

Cotton shirts are classic and always available in a variety of sizes and colors. Cotton is a strong and sturdy option that provides a clean print. If 100% cotton is your choice, go for the combed/ringspun cotton to ensure a smooth touch and a pre-shrunk option.

Blends & Polyester

Cotton and polyester go together too! We see the trend of blended tees being popular because it has a little stretch to the material,  it is less apt to shrink in the dyer, and wrinkles shake out easily. Polyester is a synthetic fiber that is more heat, water, and wrinkle resistant – which is why people gravitate to a blended tee. These shirts will cost slightly more than a cotton tee though the soft feel will keep you reaching for this shirt first thing out of the laundry!

Triblend

Triblend tees are top notch to us. This shirt is a mixture of cotton, polyester, and rayon. The rayon is where it’s at! Manufactured from wood pulp, this fiber is what gives the triblend it’s unique feel and stretch. If you haven’t worn one yet, just ask. Triblends are well worth the price you will pay to love your shirt all. day. long.

Other alternatives are also out there, 100% recycled, bamboo, modal cotton, hemp, viscose – they all offer unique benefits.
